    I try to be live and let live with most of nature. OK, 200' of privacy fence helped with the deer, but groundhogs have to go. They're cunning, persistent, agile (despite looking fat and clunky) territorial and once they take a shine to something, hard to dissuade. Sorry one got in your garden. I've never seen one dig that far but I have seen them make smaller dens apart from their main one. We call them summer homes. Any semi-sheltered location will do. We've had a few incursions from the ones living under the neighbor's shed. We're in the burbs so our options are limited. Best of luck. The garden looks gorgeous. So jealous of the elderberries.

      Usually the only thing that causes that is the elevation above sea level your at. Above 200 feet the vacuum will drop off on all machines. The higher you go the lower the vacuum any pump can pull. If you're not above sea level check the seal area around the top and seal along with the internal hose fittings for tightness. I would contact Vevor if it is none of above and see what they say because it could be the pump or gauge. Mine has worked flawlessly so far and goes to full vacuum. Hi! Thanks for the detailed explanations. You said it is very hard to set Polar, but once it is set it works very well in the long run. I have a question, how hard can it be to set? Approximately how long can it take, for someone doing this for the first time? A day, a week, a month? I know this depends on each person, their knowledge, etc, but I would like to know at least approximately. All the best!

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023

      It took. me over 4 hours to get the mirrors aligned. Another 6 hours to get the camera almost aligned. I would plan on 2 days to get it setup and aligned. With single stage air assist, if you do a lot of acrylic work plan on removing and cleaning the lense often. There are aftermarket lense tubes that make that an easier faster procedure. Thanks for watching.

    • @MihaiMihai-zw4rz
      @MihaiMihai-zw4rz 2 дня назад

      @@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 Thanks for answer! It seems that these problems were not with the Xtool P2, but after the proper settings can we say that the Polar is on the same level as the P2 in terms of engraving and cutting accuracy? Do you have a plan to go to the double stage air assist? Omtech has several types of lasers, do you think a higher power laser of 60-70W will be better than Polar? Polar is much more compact than the 60-70W models. What I am looking is a laser spot as small as possible for engraving and cutting acrylic. I watched the videos and noticed in one of them you showed how to change lenses for a little spot. Can you post a link to those lenses and also to the test lenses? All the best!

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 2 дня назад

      Really depends on what you're making and how many hours a day it will run. These small lasers have duty cycles you must remain in and use proprietary parts that are cramped in and expensive to buy. The lenses are all the same spot size when clean, fused on acrylic vapors make it bigger and more difused. Look for an after market lense holder and standard lenses because engraving acrylic takes often cleaning. I haven't really used the Polar on acrylic since getting the P2 because of the poor air assist. Before spending a ton of money on a P2 you should look at exactly what your need is and who is going to handle any problems with it should it break because the buyer is responsible to debug and fix it. These are both starter personal use machines in my eyes.

      @@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 Unfortunately you don't often find reviews as thorough as you did. I really want and would love to work with acrylic, especially engraving, but as you said, I'm afraid that due to the poor air functionality of the Polar I will have to change lenses very often. If the lenses would not be very expensive then it would not be a problem. The Xtool P2 is expensive for me, and I don't know if it's still worth it to make a considerable effort to buy it. I don't have a business plan in that direction, especially since I'm just starting out and will have to learn how to work with a laser printer. Polar costs 2749 Euro, at the same time 70W Turbo -747, costs 2649 Euro. Would Polar be better than Turbo 747, although Turbo 747 has 70W and Autocus. Would I find another laser printer in this price range? Maybe you can help me with some advice. Thanks very much! Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)

      @@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 I did my spring work here under a 200w vevor, similar to yours, and a 200w vivosun, similar to the one you gave away. I honestly think the vevor did better. They were just selling their 150w version for 55 bucks, like 400 diodes.... anyhow, I suspect the 3k/6.5k spectrum mix (vevor)vegetates things better than the 3k/5k spectrum mix (vivo). To call it older tech maybe is a little off, maybe a few years.... more like less efficient. But, from what I read, when you run the 281's at less than 100 percent you get better efficiency. SO you need more chips of 281's running at say 75% and things start to equalize...... SO, my vevor 200w has 550 chips and my vivo 200w 475. both basically 1 foot by 2 foot dimension boards.... the vivo has the lm301d's. all of these vevor boards are basically the same, bigger or smaller. buying 4, 150w boards at 55 bucks, then run those boards never over 75%, you got a winner in a 4x4 tent, you are hardly pulling 400w, and have over 1600+ diodes working for you. variable height around the tent is so key, you can run one light at 50%, but closer to the canopy, and right next to it have a different situation.

    I have had the smaller machine for 2 years. Actually, mine is a Vevor with a yellow face plate instead of the orange face plate of this model... but otherwise very similar. It has been a great machine. You can use a 10" x 13" bag in the smaller machine. That machine absolutely is enough for most home users, or at least users like me. I do the usual stuff... buy meat in bulk, preserve cut foods (like a half of an avocado), preserve dry goods, like rice. Anyway, a few months back I also bought the larger model. Why? well the "reason" was that I started to Sous Vide stuff and I could do two bags at once with the larger sealing bar. Honestly, the real reason is that I like gadgets. Both machines are great and are real values.

Being able to do tomatoes and sauces along with soups and things like juices and cider make these chamber type sealers worthwhile. only things we lower the vacuum for are chicken and meat with bones that can puncture bags easily with high vacuum making it look like a bad seal. @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 so I've thought about the winnnow process, I think an air pop corn maker without the heating element just a blower and a variac to control the fan speed would work as it would stratify things in an air bed and the light stuff float away, kinda like gold panning but with air not water. There is a possibility of using a cyclone that you could 3d print and it would work much like a hydrocyclone separating heavy and light materials via vacuum

Vacuum kiln dry timber, never used any of it so I don’t know what it is like, I cannot remember if I’ve left you a message already, But I did finally go out and purchase a ride on lawnmower, Toro , It is a tool that I need to get used to, I ended up putting it into the river, luckily I did not go all the way in, But it did take me nearly 2 hours to pull it out with my electric winch by time I’ve got everything all sorted, When I had my John Deere ride on, I can go along the embankment about 2 foot away from the edge. I’ve never had any problems., Having two levers to control it, and very close to the river I’ve decided as a no-no at least a meter, it did do a very good job, especially as I’ve got grass nearly in some places 3 feet high stinging nettles and brambles and whatever, The grass has not been cut properly for the best part of four years, I just go around occasionally with a strimmer, Keep up the great work , stay safe, look forward to your next territorial, France.

      Many biy operations run vacuum kilns now. It supposedly is the fastest way to dry slabs with very little distortion. You should join the Forestry Forum wher a lot if information about them is in the lumber drying section. www.forestryforum. com. I heard about your mower and be very careful on slopes or damp areas because they loose traction easily and without steering there's no control when sliding. It's almost like AI takes control and tries to kill you. Thanks for watching.

Amazon also sometimes has some great pricing if you are just buying one roll at a time. PLA is usually the lowest cost, safest, and easiest to get good results from for starting. Some other filaments can emit dangerous gasses that must be vented outdoors so be sure to follow the filament manufacturers directions and warnings. Have fun and printables is a great place to find files to play with. Thanks for watching.
